No exam is "routine" to Dr. Raffa. We do a complete evaluation, taking into account a patient's lifestyle, work habits, stress level and overall life situation. Using a digital retinal camera, we are able to view the back of your eyes for comparison over the years - all without dilation for most patients. Dr. Raffa will then assess your personal visual needs and make recommendations to improve your vision based on your lifestyle and individual preferences. He listens!

Vision Therapy: Although schools and pediatricians regularly screen for distance vision, many children with near vision concerns go undiagnosed. It is recommended that all children receive a complete visual exam by the age of five or sooner Even then, a child (or adult) may have 20/20 eyesight with or without glasses, but poor visual skills. These include visual acuity (sharpness or clearness), mechanical skills (ability of muscles to control the eyes in tracking) and perceptual skills (ability of the brain to organize and interpret visual information). For these children, we put together a complete program of visual exercises, which are remarkably successful in rehabilitating all types of vision impairments and visually related learning problems.
